Welcome to my Blog

Licensed as a Chiropractor with substantial training in the newly emerging field of Functional Medicine, I utilize a tool called Applied Kinesiology as a primary tool to assist in the diagnostic process that with the goal to find and fix the underlying cause(s) of my patients problems.

My patients initially come to me with muscle and joint problems. I believe that muscles are the missing link to most joint problems. If there is a joint problem, there are weak muscles that are not properly stabilizing the joint. Muscle weakness from strain does not heal with time, exercise, stretching or the commonly used physiotherapies of ultrasound, EMS, etc.

Chiropractic is a wonderful thing, but (in my opinion) the research is not adequately addressing how to optimally stabilize joint probems. This is the primary reason that DC’s are not armed with techniques to most effectively, efficiently resolve our patients muscle and joint problems for the long term.

Kinesiologic manual muscle testing allows us to find specific muscle weakness. A new manual muscle treatment technique allows us to locate and treat very specific focal sites of strain within the muscle. In my experience, this technique surpasses any other technique’s ability to fix muscle problems most effectively, efficiently and long term.

The second HUGE part of people’s muscle and joint problems is related to food allergies of the IgG mediated antibody response. I use muscle testing to assess food allergies. Based on my patient’s feedback, I believe it is exceptionally accurate. When I suspect food allergies based on muscle testing, I ask my patients to undergo the gold standard of food allergy tests…the elimination diet for two weeks followed by the reintroduction of that suspected food for three days. If symptoms emerge during those three days, the foods are highly suspect. Food allergy symptoms are most common immediately rising from a night’s sleep. Waking up with a new problem out of the blue or an aggravation of a strain makes no sense to me. A strain injury rests overnight and therefore feels best in the morning. Strain injuries should become worse with increased activity or toward the end of the day. Symptoms include any joint pain, digestive disturbances, sinus discharge or anything not easily accounted for in other ways.

Functional Medicine is a science-based field of health care, grounded on the principles of biochemical individuality, patient-centered care, the dynamic balance of health processes rather than health and disease as a sudden fixed event, health as a positive vitality, promotion of organ reserve, and that the human body functions as a network of interconnected systems rather than individual systems functioning autonomously.

Functional Medicine is sometimes referred to as “Right Molecules Medicine”. We need the Right molecules of the Right substance for the Right condition at the Right time. There are endless strategies for whatever condition we choose to discuss. Because of the Biochemical Individuality of each person, everyone will have their own very unique needs to regain health.

In this office the use of an advanced model of Kinesiologic manual muscle testing (Extreme Kinesiology) is showing to be an valuable tool to determine what specific vitamin-mineral-herbal formulations will benefic individual health challenges. When using muscle testing to fine tune individual needs, we are able to provide the maximum health, vitality and years of disease free living our bodies were designed to attain and maintain.

Functional Health Care focuses on functionality at many levels, rather than a single treatment for a single diagnosis. Working in partnership with a trained Functional Medicine practitioner, patients make dietary and activity changes that, when combined with nutrients and nutraceuticals targeted to specific functional needs, allow them to truly be in charge of improving their own health and changing the outcome of disease.
